FAQ
I hope that you'll be able to find a lot of the information you might need here on my website, but if you have any further questions please feel free to ask.
The first time we meet I'll invite you to you to tell me your story and why you've decided to come to counselling. We'll speak about how we would work together going forward and you can let me know what it is you're looking for in counselling. Before our first session I'll collect some of your details and ask you to read my standard counselling agreement. You can ask me any questions you like about my polices or the way we might work together. You can then decide whether or not you would like to continue in regular counselling. If you need to take some time to think, that's absolutely fine. If you decide we might not be a good a fit, that's ok too. It's important that you feel it's a good fit between us.

If you are based in Leith you could try contacting
The Junction: http://the-junction.org/services/counselling/
Even if they are not able to help they may be able to point you in the direction of a service that can.
Sometimes counselling is also available through schools.
If you would prefer to contact a counsellor in private practice you can also use the advance search function on the counselling directory to narrow by age range or "type of client" a counsellor works with.
